What goes into animation and why this price?

It takes a lot to create the works done by the Everything About Nothing team (a one-person team…for now). From concept and character designs, to sound design and animation, Everything About Nothing is a one-stop shop for fully-developed storytelling. Here’s a breakdown of the steps to create a cartoon:

Concept - What is the story? How many characters are involved? Where is the story taking place? Are there multiple locations? What are the characters doing? If you have all of those details fleshed out, congratulations! You’re one step closer to creating a cartoon. If not, we are here to help flesh out those details, ensuring a story anyone would love.

Design - Developing the look and feel of every element of the concept. Character design, background design, prop design, etc. What does everything look like?

Script - Who’s writing the story? Is there a script ready to follow? Do you need help fleshing things out?

Audio - There’s gotta be sound right? It’s one thing to have dialogue, but there is so much more that needs to be done to bring it to life. Are birds chirping outside? Are cars driving past? Are there explosions? Is the radio playing in the background while characters are driving? Sound is just as important to an animation as the visual itself. Sight-impaired folks love cartoons too!

Animation - The home stretch. The animation process takes the most amount of work due to it being done frame-by-frame. At the traditional rate of 24 frames/drawings per second, it takes 1,440 drawings to create one minute of animation (24*60). So a 3-minute animation could be around 4,320 frames/drawings. That takes a lot of time to develop, especially when it comes to making characters walk, talk, dance, sing, etc. There are animation programs that reduce the workload by key-framing (connecting point A to point B), but Everything About Nothing primarily works within a frame-by-frame program, creating an authentic style.

Revisions - Nothing is perfect, but when it comes to servicing you as a client, we want to ensure that you’re absolutely thrilled with your product. We make room for revisions to guarantee exactly what you want in the fashion that you want it.

*We primarily work deposit and payment-plan based to make it easier for clients to make payments, as well as to ensure an incentive to keep the engine running through the rigorous process of animation.

Most projects take about 2-4 months on average to complete.
